Not everything you wrote is a priority. Some of it will still be there tomorrow, and that's fine. You see those on screen too — each with the reason it can wait — and then they flow away.
Lethe isn't a sleep mode. It ends in clarity, not in bed.

You write to the fire, not to a person.
Someone sits at the fire — a keeper. But you write to the fire, and it speaks to what you burned, not to you. No questions. No advice. No analysis. There is no chat in here.
The cost isn't a tap. It's the time itself.
You press and hold the ember at the bottom of the screen. You breathe in; the fire swells with you. When you let go, what you wrote burns letter by letter. Pull away before the threshold and nothing burns — backing out is always allowed.
Then you choose what it was.
Seal it, and it stays behind Face ID. Turn it to ash, and the text is never written down in the first place. Not deleted — never saved.

Breathing and a sound to sleep to.
When the cave closes you sit down by the fire. The Hearth is on the Hypnos path only — it isn't a wind-down for everyone.
Ten breathing patterns.
Tonight's is chosen by how tonight went. If you're panicking there's no hold at all — holding your breath in panic makes it worse. Grief gets an even rhythm. Anger gets four equal phases, because anger isn't looking for calm, it's looking for control.
Thirteen sleep sounds — one offered.
One sound, named, with a line about what it actually sounds like. It's already playing while you decide, because you can't choose a sound you haven't heard. It stops on its own after 30 minutes.

Layer two or three, set the balance, save the combination.
Breathing and sleep sounds are part of Pro. The free tier doesn't include them.
Morning remembers what the night set down.
Your three priorities, a read on how last night actually went, and one line from your guide. If you were in the cave, only the ember comes back — never what you wrote.
The Letter of the Month.
When a month ends, your guide reads it back and writes you a letter. It arrives sealed.
You break the seal yourself.
Press and hold. The wax warms, cracks at the halfway point, and gives. Let go too early and it simply cools again.
One line survives it.
The Line of the Month — a distilled sentence you can share. It carries no numbers, no dates, no names; that's checked before it's ever shown to you.
The cave stays out of it.
What you burned never reaches the letter. Not by policy — there's no code path from one to the other.
It stays yours, structurally.
Turn to ash means never written.
There's nothing to delete because nothing was saved. The counters still count the night; the text never existed.
The cave locks behind Face ID.
Hypnos sessions are gated. There's a separate app lock, and you can keep Hypnos out of iCloud entirely.
Auto-delete, if you want it.
Off, 30 days, or 90 days. Your choice, changeable any time.
An account is optional.
You can use Lethis without one. If you do sign in, it's Sign in with Apple and nothing else.
Delete everything from inside the app.

What is Lethis, exactly?
An app for the nights your head won't switch off. You write down what's in it. Then either it comes down to three priorities you can start tomorrow (Lethe), or you give it to the fire and keep none of it (Hypnos).
Do I chat with an AI?
In Lethe, your guide answers you. In Hypnos, no — a keeper sits at the fire, but you write to the fire, not to them. It never asks a question, gives advice, or analyzes you.
